Danielle Parsons is a photographer of out Philadelphia who has been the eyes of the Doylestown scene for years.  She’s been kind enough to share some of her favorite photos and some background on them.

LETDOWN | This photo honestly sucks. I took it when i was about 16 I think. Mike Pinon had a show in his basement and Let Down and a whole bunch of other bands I can’t think of played. It was the first basement show I had ever been to. This was from a time when Doylestown had awesome shows every weekend.

TIGERS JAW | In 2010 I got to go on tour with Tigers Jaw. I’m really thankful I had the opportunity to go. Being able to see the whole entire country was amazing. I remember taking lots of naps and always waking up and being in new places. This is from when we stopped to see the Cascade Mountains on the way to Seattle I believe. It was one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen.

TITLE FIGHT | In 2009 I went up to the Wilkes-Barre area to go to Slambfest. It was this huge show in this kids garage and it was so cool. Title Fight, Mother of Mercy, and I believe Backtrack played, just to name a few. I think this was also the last Slambfest ever.

MOTHER OF MERCY | Mother of Mercy played a show at my friend Kelsey’s apartment back in either 2009 or 2010. She had this awesome apartment on 19th and Girard in North Philly back then. This photo is from when MOM covered Behind This Wall by Turning Point. I can’t believe the show didn’t get shut down.

NEW FOUND GLORY | I got to shoot Warped Tour back in 2007 and one of my friends whose band played the fest let me on stage to shoot New Found Glory. I thought getting to shoot NFG at the time was the coolest thing ever.

BALANCE AND COMPOSURE | I shot these horrible promos for Balance and Composure right after Only Boundaries came out. This was in Erik’s basement. They had this whole idea that it would be cool to put candles in their mouths and Bailey kept getting freaked out from what I remember.

DISENGAGE | I got to shoot This Is Hardcore for the first time in 2011. I’ve shot every year since and as draining and exhausting as the weekend is, it’s a lot of fun and I’m really happy I’ve had the opportunity to shoot every fest since then.

THE RIVAL MOB | This is from The Rival Mob’s set at this past This Is Hardcore. I decided to change things up a little bit this year and not use the same lenses and try and shoot differently than I had in previous years. I’m pretty happy with how the photos turned out.

DAYLIGHT | Daylight played at Siren Records in Doylestown this past June or so. It was kind of nostalgic because I remember when Siren used to have awesome shows every weekend. It was definitely one of the best Daylight shows I’ve ever been to.

TOUCHE AMORE | Touche Amore played Broad St. Ministry in Philadelphia sometime in 2011. I think Seahaven and Pianos Become the Teeth played too. I don’t have much to say about it but I do like this photo a lot and the show overall was awesome. Broad St. is probably one of my favorite venues in the city.

BALANCE AND COMPOSURE – Last month my friend Dan shot Balance’s video for Reflection. It was a really long day filming all over Bucks County and Lambertville, New Jersey. It was a lot of fun. These guys have always been so nice to me and have always supported me and I’ll always be grateful for that.
